Super Global Careers

Stephen BanickStephen Banick, “The Career Catalyst,” is the founder and CEO of The Gulliver Project, Inc., an educational empowerment company committed to creating a generation of leaders who are aware, informed and connected with the emerging Global Workplace.

As an entrepreneur, “edu-tainer” and author, Steve’s unique and colorful presentations draw upon his experiences – both on-the-job and as an adventure traveler – spanning six continents and three decades of “cross-cultural collisions.”  He’s had a rich and wild ride:  an owner of an award-winning international Natural Foods company; a manager of sales, marketing and recruiting in the IT consulting industry; a director of business development in the healthcare industry; an engineer with a Fortune 50 company; and a foreign-based English teacher.  He even sold student textbooks door-to-door and dabbled in politics (well, he was sixth grade home room president).

Steve now travels North America introducing college, high school and professional audiences to cutting-edge careers; powerful global trends and innovative business practices that are literally changing the world; cross-cultural organizational/teamwork secrets; and other practical tools for fostering passionate, profitable and fun careers.

He’s the author of four books, including The Student Roadmap to the Global Workforce and The Student Guide to the Coolest New Jobs and Hottest New Industries.  He’s also the creator of “MAX” (“Marketing and Excellence in Global Business”), a lively online Learning Management System for classrooms and campus career centers committed to 21st Century business, marketing, international affairs, career development, entrepreneurship, diversity and leadership.

Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and was honored as “Outstanding MBA Student” by Boise State University, the guys with the blue football field.  However, as a self-professed “student of the world,” he’s quick to point out that his greatest learning experiences have come far from the ivory towers of Academia U. or the polished floors of Corporation, Inc.

Foremost, Steve’s a story teller.  He can’t help it – perhaps it’s his travels, or maybe it’s just his bohemian-twin taking center stage, but he believes that a good story’s worth a hundred text books and a good joke trumps a dozen sermons.  After all, how can anything as demanding and serious as career development and global business/marketing be received and internalized if it’s not, well, fun and interesting!?
